Cristal's love for hair began at the age of 14 in California. Working in both Sacramento and Laguna Beach, California, she perfected her passion through extensive training and hands-on experience.
During her California years, she studied Vidal Sassoon technique, was an educator with Toni and Guy, worked in a Sebastian flagship salon, studied Schwarzkopf & Framesi color theory, and ushered in the use of Monofibre hair extensions.
